About the Artist

MOTIVATION

As a photo artist, I like to push traditional boundaries by blurring the lines between photo and painting, subject and context, image and frame, art and observer.

TECHNIQUES

Photography: I use creative techniques such as slow shutter and camera movement to creative impressionistic images. Sometimes multiple photos are overlayed to create a composite image. No AI generation is used. All images were taken by me.

Printing and Painting: Images are printed on various paper and metal surfaces depending on the desired look and feel. Acrylic inks and texture are then hand painted onto the photo to complement the image. Sometimes photo prints are cut into strips and woven together like fabric, or covered in mesh fabric. Vintage, hand-painted frames are often integrated into the design.

Made for the real world: My works are meant to be experienced off-line as real, 3D objects that can be touched and viewed from various angles and under different light conditions. The texture and detail of the artwork can best be appreciated in person so feel free to attend one of my upcoming exhibitions or contact me to arrange for a private viewing if you are in Munich.

Originally from the USA, I have been living in Munich since 2019.
